Schafer and Weiner partners Dan Weiner and Michael Wernette have co-authored the “Litigation in Bankruptcy Court” chapter in the Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s 2009 book, Handling Consmer and Small Business Bankruptcies in Michigan. The chapter summarizes key issues such as bankruptcy court jurisdiction, venue, withdrawal of the reference, core vs. non-core matters, adversary proceedings vs. contested matters, motion practice mechanics, and other topics critical to the lawyer faced with a litigation issue in bankruptcy court. Mr. Weiner and Mr. Wernette have decades of combined experience litigating in bankruptcy courts around the country.
