
Tracey Porter focuses her practice on commercial litigation, employment litigation, bankruptcy litigation and debtor/creditor law. Her litigation experience includes evidentiary hearings, a significant motion practice, all aspects of the discovery process, mediations and arbitrations. Ms. Porter’s bankruptcy-specific litigation experience includes preference and fraudulent transfer actions, motions for relief from the automatic stay and applications for allowance and payment of administrative expense claims.
Ms. Porter graduated from Wayne State University Law School cum laude in 2006. During law school, Ms. Porter was an assistant articles editor and a senior articles editor for The Wayne State Law Review. Ms. Porter also interned for Justice Robert P. Young while in law school.
Ms. Porter is a member of the Oakland County Women’s Bar Association, MIWIRC and a member of Young Restructuring Professionals.
Obtained summary disposition on behalf of defendants in an employment litigation matter where the employer was sued by former employees for an alleged breach of contract.
Defended former business owner against several complex causes of action based on alleged breaches of business laws and obtained a settlement of $50,000.00 on an alleged million dollar claim.
Successfully petitioned the bankruptcy court to disallow a settlement between the official committee for unsecured creditors and the debtor’s secured creditors that would have prevented payment of our client’s administrative claim.
