Michigan Court has Personal Jurisdiction over Michigan Auto Supplier’s Italian Director

June, 2017

Schafer and Weiner, PLLC represents a Michigan-based auto supplier in its lawsuit against its Italian director for breach of fiduciary duty.  The Italian director moved to dismiss the claims against him for lack of personal jurisdiction.  Joseph K. Grekin and John Stockdale, Jr. drafted the auto supplier’s opposition to the Italian director’s motion.  The Court held, without oral argument and based solely on the parties’ papers, that it had personal jurisdiction over the Italian director and denied his motion to dismiss.  A copy of the Court’s opinion is here.
