Schafer and Weiner Assist with Sale of McDonald’s Franchises

In connection with the resolution of litigation between an insolvent franchisee, its franchisor, and another. John Stockdale, Jr. and Brandi M. Dobbs assisted the insolvent franchisee with the consummation of the sale to the franchisor. The retention involved the analysis of complex and convoluted corporate structures and the analysis the secured, tax, and unsecured obligations with an eye toward resolving those obligations having nondischargeability implications. John and Brandi worked hand-in-hand with the seller to gather the information necessary to consummate the sale; and, as a result of John’s efforts, in coordination with separate litigation counsel, and after working through the seller’s cold feet, the sale closed.
