Schafer and Weiner Obtains Favorable Result for Client in Shareholder Dispute of a Closely Held Company
Schafer and Weiner helped to resolve a shareholder dispute between two 50% shareholders of a closely held corporation. The dispute arose from differences between the managing shareholder and the non-managing shareholder over the value of corporate shares – differences that negatively affected the company’s financial performance. Schafer and Weiner guided the shareholders to an agreement during a facilitation in January 2015, resulting in a favorable outcome for S&W’s client who was able to purchase the non-managing shareholder’s shares for a small fraction of what had been previously demanded.
