Schafer and Weiner Resolve Novelty Company’s Chapter 11 Case
After experiencing setbacks in certain intellectual property litigation, Schafer and Weiner was retained to assist two related novelty product companies restructure their operations and resolve the litigation. To resolve this matter, Schafer and Weiner brought its bankruptcy and litigations teams to bear. Michael E. Baum and John Stockdale, Jr. worked with the Debtor to formulate and propose a confirmable subchapter V plan of reorganization while Joseph K. Grekin and Brandi M. Dobbs addressed ongoing litigation over the intellectual property across the federal district and bankruptcy courts. As a result of their team efforts, the issues that drove the parties into litigation and bankruptcy were successfully resolved through mediation and the bankruptcy cases were dismissed.
