Schafer and Weiner Wins Summary Disposition in Oakland County Circuit Court
John Stockdale, Jr., Joseph K. Grekin, and Kim Hillary exemplified the power of teamwork when they successfully brought a pre-answer motion for summary judgment. Schafer and Wiener represented the defendant in litigation brought over the terms of a real estate purchase agreement. The seller and a related entity brought eight counts for breach of contract, negligence, conversion, and damages under the anti-lockout statute. Working as a team, Schafer and Weiner had seven of the eight counts dismissed on summary judgment leaving only the seller’s breach of contract count remaining against its purchaser-client.
