Not all insolvency matters conclude with a bankruptcy. John Stockdale Jr. assisted the seller with the sale of a distressed party store located in Plymouth, Michigan. To close the transaction, John helped the client navigate certain nondischargeability issues involving state sales tax and lottery. John also entered into difficult negotiation with the landlord, who was owed substantial back rent on a month-to-month lease. As a result, the business assets were sold and significant business and personal liabilities were resolved.
